Ahoy, Optimist Clubs! The 2024-25 Optimist International year is kicking off with an exciting new incentive program designed to keep our membership strong and growing: SS Optimism 2024-25 Cruise. Like a thrilling ocean voyage, this incentive brings fun, engagement, and rewards as you work toward building stronger clubs and a brighter future for our communities.
Here’s how it works and how your club can “opt-in” to set sail for success!
Opting In and Setting Sail
To participate in the SS Optimism incentive, clubs must officially “Opt-In.” Once your club has opted in, you’re part of the journey for the entire Optimist year. But don’t worry—clubs can opt-in at any time! Once aboard, you’re cruising for the long haul, working toward retaining members and gaining new ones for a chance to win exciting prizes.
Ports of Call: Quarterly Drawings
At the end of each quarter, Optimist Clubs that have grown their membership beyond their October 1, 2024, baseline roster will be entered into a drawing for cash prizes. For every new member past the October 1 baseline, your club earns an entry into the drawing.
Here’s an example to break it down:
October 1 Roster: Club starts with 50 members.
December 31 Roster: Club has 57 members. That’s seven new members, so your club gets seven entries into the 1st Quarter drawing!
With each new quarter, your baseline remains the same, encouraging retention while building new growth. The more you bring in and retain members, the more entries you accumulate, increasing your chances to win.
Quarterly Prize Drawings:
Each quarter, clubs will have the chance to win generous cash prizes:
1st Quarter: One drawing for $250.00.
2nd Quarter: Two drawings for $250.00 each.
3rd Quarter: Three drawings for $250.00 each.
4th Quarter: Four drawings for $250.00 each.
Remember, clubs can win multiple times throughout the year, so if you’re working hard to boost membership, you could find your club’s name in the winner’s circle again and again!
Encouraging Member Retention
What makes this incentive unique is that each quarter starts fresh, but the baseline remains the same. So, no matter how much growth your club achieves in one quarter, the focus remains on retention and continued member recruitment in the following quarters. This format ensures that clubs are continually motivated to keep members engaged while seeking new ones to join the Optimist movement.

Terms and Conditions: Clubs must opt in to participate. Once opted in, clubs remain enrolled for the entire year. Drawing entries are based on the number of members added to the roster after October 1, 2024. Club names can be drawn multiple times. The October 1 roster will remain the baseline throughout the year.
